City of Fort Pierce

The City of Fort Pierce employed the services of LMC on a project to stabilize the Virginia Avenue Outfall Canal.  This project was funded through a USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NCRS) Emergency Watershed Protection Program Grant.

This project was so sucessful that NRCS generated a video highlighting this development for submittal to Florida's State Representatives.

Project of the Year Award - Indian River Pollution Control

The Marine Resources Council of East Florida recognized Indian River County as recipient of the Indian River Lagoon Project of the Year in commemoration for outstanding efforts to improve the health of the Indian River Lagoon.  Lucas Marine Construction is proud to have completed this project for Indian River County.

Environmental Enhancement Award

The Friends of the St. Sebastian River recognized Indian River County with the annual Environmental Enhancement Award for the Indian River Lagoon Project.  This award is presented to an individual, business or organization who the organization feels has done the most in the past year to improve or protect the environment.  Lucas Marine Construction is proud to have partnered with Indian River County on the Indian River Pollution Control project to enhance our environment.  We congratulate Indian River County on receiving this award.

Filtration System-Indian River County

A filtration system-the first of its type- is doing its job.  More than 100 tons of plants and trash along with six truckloads of dirt that would have gone into Indian River Lagoon, were removed by the trash rake filtration system.
